Xu Zhongjian, Party Secretary of Huaihua; Chen Ailin, Mayor of Yongzhou; and Zheng Ping, Vice Mayor of Changsha, Visit Yuhu Group Headquarters in Hong Kong
2025.05.14
玉湖集團

On May 13, Huang Xiangmo, Chairman of the Board of Hong Kong Yuhu Group, held business discussions with delegations from three cities in Hunan Province—Huaihua, Yongzhou, and Changsha—at Yuhu Group’s Hong Kong headquarters. The meetings focused on deepening collaboration and fostering shared development. Senior Executives from Yuhu Group, including Huang Zhenghong and Huang Jian, and Yuhu Cold Chain Executives Yang Tao and Zuo Zhisong, attended the talks.

Xu Zhongjian: Expecting Yuhu Group to Undertake In-Depth and All-Round Cooperation with Huaihua in Cold Chain Logistics

During the meeting with Huaihua, Huang Xiangmo first introduced the development achievements of the "Yuhu Cold Chain Greater China Strategy" over the past five years, emphasizing Yuhu Cold Chain's pioneering "OMO service model." This model expands transaction scope through an online trading platform while ensuring full-process guarantees for goods transportation, delivery, and payment via an offline fulfillment network, providing clients with secure, stable, end-to-end integrated frozen product supply chain solutions. He also briefed on the progress of the Yuhu Cold Chain Changsha project and plans to select sites for secondary trading centers within Hunan Province, hoping to further expand the market radiation scope of regional products through synergistic interaction between the two tiers of trading centers.

Huang Xiangmo, Chairman of the Board of Hong Kong Yuhu Group

Xu Zhongjian warmly welcomed Yuhu Cold Chain's selection of sites for secondary bases in Hunan. He noted that as a major logistics city in the border region of Hunan, Hubei, Chongqing, Guizhou, and Guangxi, Huaihua has successfully established a dual hub system for land-sea combined transport and international railway transport through the innovative "International Land Port + Dual Corridor" model. With advantages in location, industry, and business environment, it is well-positioned to build a secondary trading center for Yuhu Cold Chain. From 2022 to 2024, Huaihua seized the development opportunities of the RCEP, used the international land port as a strategic fulcrum, fully unleashed the overlapping efficiency of the "dual corridors," and achieved leapfrog improvements in opening-up levels, with foreign trade import-export growth rates leading the province for three consecutive years. Currently, Huaihua regularly operates multiple rail-sea intermodal transport trains, unblocking international logistics corridors and becoming an important window for opening-up in inland areas. He emphasized that Yuhu Cold Chain, as a benchmark enterprise in China's frozen product supply chain sector, its innovative OMO service model highly aligns with Huaihua's development needs to strengthen cold chain infrastructure and enhance international trade influence. It is hoped that Yuhu Group will conduct on-site inspections in Huaihua and carry out in-depth and all-round cooperation with Huaihua in cold chain logistics to assist Huaihua's high-level opening-up and high-quality development, jointly building a " Buy Globally, Sell Globally " full-chain circulation system.

Xu Zhongjian, Party Secretary of Huaihua Municipal Committee

Participants in the Huaihua meeting included Xiang Rulian, Vice Mayor of Huaihua; Zhang Wuwei, Director of the Bureau of Commerce; and Ai Zhengqing, Director of the Management Committee of the International Land Port Economic Development Zone.

Chen Ailin: Hoping to explore new paths for integrating the entire agricultural product chain with Yuhu Group to achieve mutual benefits

During the meeting with the Yongzhou delegation, Chen Ailin introduced the basic situation of Yongzhou. As a national backbone cold chain logistics network and a land-port-type national logistics hub city, Yongzhou has a 13.3 square kilometer land port planning area and is adjacent to Guangdong, making it a natural hub connecting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the new western land-sea corridor. As a traditional agricultural city, Yongzhou supplies over half of the country’s vegetable exports to Hong Kong in terms of value, and is rich in characteristic agricultural products such as citrus and livestock, possessing natural conditions and industrial foundations for "direct supply from production areas to sales areas," which aligns closely with Yuhu Group’s cold chain logistics layout philosophy in Hunan Province. He further expressed a warm welcome to Yuhu Group to visit Yongzhou for inspection and investment, looking forward to leveraging Yuhu Group’s national cold chain logistics network advantages to deeply integrate Yongzhou’s logistics infrastructure and resource allocation, efficiently delivering Yongzhou’s characteristic agricultural products to the Greater Bay Area and overseas markets, and achieving a mutually beneficial industrial synergy development pattern.

Huang Xiangmo stated that Yuhu Cold Chain’s market layout adopts a "dual-level linkage" model: primary trading centers are positioned as bulk wholesale hubs, focusing on serving sales markets and undertaking the national distribution function of domestic and foreign food materials; secondary trading centers combine small and medium-scale wholesale and terminal retail businesses, prioritizing layout in production areas rich in agricultural resources, aiming to promote local characteristic agricultural products to the national and even global markets through the primary market network. Yongzhou’s superior geographical location and abundant resources provide natural advantages for linkage and complementarity with the Changsha project. Next, Yuhu Group will, based on on-site inspections and in-depth communication, work with Yongzhou to advance specific cooperation matters, helping local high-quality agricultural products reach broader markets through Yuhu Cold Chain’s global network.

Chen Ailin, Mayor of Yongzhou

Participants from Yongzhou included Qi Aishe, Secretary-General of Yongzhou; Zhou Xiaofen, Director of the Bureau of Commerce; Tang Huiyun, Director of the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Jiang Hua, Chief Executive of Dong'an County; Gu Jian, General Manager of Yongzhou Port Development Group; Zhao Xin, Director of the Investment Promotion Affairs Bureau; Deng Shaolong, Section Chief of the First Secretariat Section of the Office; and Yang Zhuxue, Director of the Agricultural Comprehensive Service Center.

Zheng Ping: Ensuring Project Implementation and Operational Development with 'Butler-Style' Services

During the discussion with Changsha, Huang Xiangmo first expressed gratitude to the Party committees and governments at all levels in Changsha for their care and support for the Yuhu Cold Chain (Changsha) Trading Center. He mentioned that Yuhu Cold Chain is using the Changsha project as a strategic pivot to accelerate the construction of a frozen product trading and fulfillment system covering Hunan and radiating nationwide. Once fully operational, the project will deeply reshape the frozen product industry ecology in Hunan Province. In terms of digital and intelligent upgrades, relying on its self-developed digital operation system, Yuhu Cold Chain will fill the data gap in the traditional frozen product circulation field from retail to wholesale, driving efficiency optimization across the entire chain through real-time data analysis and intelligent decision-making. In terms of industrial synergy, Yuhu Cold Chain will fully leverage its platform’s resource integration advantages, opening up distribution channels from production areas to terminals, and promoting efficient access of regional characteristic products to the national market. In the future, with the gradual improvement of the secondary trading center network, Yuhu Cold Chain will continue to amplify the core hub effect of the Changsha project, building a modern food supply network connecting the north and south and linking domestic and international markets, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of Hunan’s cold chain industry through industrial synergy and innovation.

Zheng Ping praised the construction achievements of the Yuhu Cold Chain Changsha project and expressed gratitude to Yuhu Group for choosing Changsha. She pointed out that the Yuhu Cold Chain Changsha project, from signing to partial capping of the land parcels, took only one year, representing a deep integration of international standards and Changsha’s speed. As one of the Public Infrastructure for Both Normal and Emergency Use Projects in Changsha, the project not only improves the regional cold chain logistics network but also strongly promotes the transformation and upgrading of the cold chain industry towards intelligence and green development. Zheng Ping looks forward to deeper cooperation between the two sides in areas such as China-Africa trade and the entire beef and mutton industry chain, jointly building efficient circulation channels to help high-quality African products enter the domestic market with high quality and efficiency. She emphasized that Changsha will continue to optimize the business environment, providing "butler-style" services to ensure the project’s implementation and operational development, fully supporting Yuhu Group in creating an international cold chain industry benchmark in Hunan, and helping Changsha accelerate the construction of a national logistics hub city and enhance the city’s global competitiveness.

Appendix:

As a key component of the top ten industrial projects in Hunan Province and Changsha City, and a crucial part of Changsha’s Public Infrastructure for Both Normal and Emergency Use Projects, the Yuhu Cold Chain Changsha project has attracted significant attention since its inception, continuously setting new industry construction benchmarks with its remarkable "Hunan speed." With the full support of the governments at all levels in Hunan Province, Changsha City, Changsha County, and the Free Trade Airport Zone Management Committee, the project completed the entire process from signing to land acquisition, commencement, and partial main structure capping in less than a year, vividly demonstrating Hunan’s first-class business environment. In July 2024, the semi-annual key project inspection and evaluation and the third-quarter centralized commencement ceremony of Changsha City were held at the project site. Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Party Secretary of Changsha, and Mayor Zhou Haibing highly praised the project’s adherence to international standards in building cold chain infrastructure and its innovative integration of the entire industry chain, noting its close alignment with Changsha’s strategic layout for building a national logistics hub city. On April 18, 2025, the Yuhu Cold Chain Changsha Integrated Service Centre was officially launched, with Zheng Ping attending the ceremony and witnessing the signing of the first batch of merchants, marking a solid step towards full operation. On May 7, 2025, the main structure of Land Parcel One of the Yuhu Cold Chain (Changsha) Trading Center was successfully capped, approximately two months ahead of the original schedule.
