On June 24, Xia Xiaozhong, Secretary of the Xianyang Municipal Party Committee, led a government delegation to visit Yuhu Cold Chain (Guangzhou) Trading Center and held talks with Huang Xiangmo, Chairman of the Board of Hong Kong Yuhu Group. The two sides exchanged views on issues such as the upgrading of the cold chain industry in Northwest China.
Huang Xiangmo extended a warm welcome to Xia Xiaozhong and his delegation, and introduced the 25-year development history of Yuhu Group and the national strategic layout of Yuhu Cold Chain. He emphasized that cold chain infrastructure is a core support for the country’s modern industrial system, and highly praised Xianyang’s pivotal role as a hub in the Northwest region’s economy. He stated that, should Yuhu Cold Chain establish a presence in Northwest China in the future, it would fully leverage the region’s “dual-directional distribution” hub potential. On one hand, leveraging Yuhu Cold Chain’s global supply chain network, high-quality meat and fresh products can be introduced to the Northwest market; on the other hand, by integrating the region’s specialty agricultural resources, a digital trading hub can be built to drive the upgrade of the entire industry chain from source production and processing to transportation, providing new income opportunities for local farmers. Yuhu Cold Chain’s mature experience in green and low-carbon cold chain technology, fully digital traceability systems, and cross-border settlement is highly consistent with the development needs of agricultural product import and export trade in Shaanxi Province, especially in cities like Xianyang. It will provide strong support for local industrial upgrading, improving the regional cold chain food supply chain network, and helping the regional economy achieve high-quality development.
During the visit, Xia Xiaozhong gained an in-depth understanding of Yuhu Cold Chain’s innovative Online-Merge-Offline (OMO) trading model, believing it could effectively solve the difficulties such as large fluctuations in local agricultural product prices and low low circulation efficiency of local agricultural products, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the cold chain industry in Shaanxi. During the meeting, Xia Xiaozhong highlighted Xianyang’s unique locational advantages: it hosts the largest aviation hub in Northwest China—Xianyang International Airport—and is a key zone for the China-Europe Railway Express land port, with 12 expressway networks, boasting extremely advantageous geographical location. He noted that Shaanxi Province is fully promoting the integration of Xi'an and Xianyang, and urgently needs leading innovative enterprises like Yuhu Cold Chain to drive the upgrading of agricultural trade. It is hoped that both sides will give full play to their respective advantages, accelerate the implementation and transformation of negotiation results, and explore a path of win-win cooperation and development.
Also present at the visit were Ye Xinjie, Vice Mayor of Xianyang; Gao Yongke, Secretary-General of the CPC Municipal Committee; He Jianfeng, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Bureau; Mao Jianrong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Xianyang High-tech Zone; Cui Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee; Zhao Yang, Director of the Investment Cooperation Bureau of the Management Committee; Guo Limin, President of Hong Kong Yuhu Group and Chairman of Yuhu Cold Chain; Zhong Huihong, President of Yuhu Cold Chain; and senior executives Yang Tao and others.
